As workplaces increasingly embrace Agentic AI, businesses are discovering how this technology can transform workflows across various sectors. At the recent AWS Summit New York 2025 (https://aws.amazon.com/summits/new-york/) , Amazon Web Services (AWS) (https://aws.amazon.com/) unveiled its new platform, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore (https://aws.amazon.com/bedrock/) , designed to support the next generation of AI agents.

According to Deepak Singh (https://aws.amazon.com/executive-profiles/deepak-singh/) , VP of Developer Agents and Experience at AWS, Agentic AI has the potential to be as revolutionary as data networks. He stated, “It’s a world that’s going to get real very quickly.” With tech giants backing this initiative, including AWS (https://aws.amazon.com/ai/) , the evolution of foundational models is paving the way for businesses to build and run AI agents at scale.

Building on the new Amazon Bedrock AgentCore platform, developers can harness advanced capabilities to create smarter, safer, and more intuitive agents. Singh mentions that many customers are already utilizing Bedrock to create their agents, which are expected to become integral to future applications. “The next generation of applications is going to be agentic,” he notes.

But how does AWS keep the technology exciting and relevant for those already familiar with AI? Singh explains that while agents have been around for a while, significant advancements have occurred in just the last six to nine months. Customers are looking to enhance organizational effectiveness by automating mundane tasks and providing high-level instructions for agents to execute, thus augmenting their capabilities.

With the evolution of foundational models allowing agents to reason and think, AWS’s own Strand SDK (https://aws.amazon.com/architecture/strandsdk/) exemplifies this change. It enables an agentic loop that allows models to perform heavy lifting while users receive the information they need with less effort. Additionally, connecting third-party agents is vital, and new protocols like MCP (https://aws.amazon.com/mcp/) and A2A (https://aws.amazon.com/a2a/) are already showing promising results.

Singh emphasizes the importance of AgentCore in reducing barriers to building sophisticated agents and expanding their capabilities across organizations. “The barriers to building, to finding the right tools and agents just fell significantly,” he explains. As innovation in AI continues to accelerate, AgentCore is set to play a crucial role in shaping the future of enterprise AI.

“AI is changing rapidly,” Singh quips, “every two weeks there’s a new model.” With AgentCore laying down a foundation of core services, businesses can expect to keep building and evolving alongside the technology. “There is going to be a world that is going to be agentic,” he concludes, “and AgentCore is going to be an accelerant to making this happen.”
